So, it's been a while. I guess I just haven't been in the mood.

The kids have been loving playing in all the snow. The only problem is we are all going stir crazy from being stuck in the house the rest of the time. At least Carter is staying busy being a pirate for 4 of the last 7 days.

OK, enough! I'll try and be more creative next time but you know I'm no Kristen so don't get your hopes up too high!!
Christmas was nice and relaxing. We had lots of fun having Jody home for two weeks after a loooonnnggg cross country season. We had lots of fun with all of the family around. Here are the kids and cousin D at the farm. Carter was a little freaked by all the cows mooing at us. They were very hungry and it took some doing to convince carter that the cows only ate hay, not
3 year old cowboys.
We went to the cabin and the kids sledded (is that a real word?!) and snowmobiled to their hearts delight. (along with frozen toes and noses). Kali lost her first tooth at the cabin also. she bit into her hotdog and it popped right out! The toothfairy was much more generous than when I was growing up. And kali was pleased that she knew kali was at the cabin and not at home.

We got a few projects done around the house. We stained the mantel on the fireplace dark so it doesn't look so 70's-ish. And I painted and papered a cheap bookshelf. I think it looks cute. Jody also tried to fix some of the tile in our bathroom, but if you didn't know it already, he HATES doing tile work. It makes him extremely grumpy.(I think it's just because he has an artists mind and doesn't like things that require straight lines and exactness.)

Everyone got back into the groove of school and scouts and piano and homework.
Tate has almost got his tooth in, he is army crawling, and almost has down the real thing. And he now weighs in at a whoppin' 22 lbs at 8 months. Can anyone say chiropractor?!

I love what you did with your mantle and your bookcase. You must have a great design consultant. Really, though, I am so proud of you for doing it! It does look marvelous and your kids and so squishingly cute.
I forgot to mention that kristen is my great design consultant. sorry, kristen! she always has great ideas and is so creative. love ya!
Anyone with a husband for a coach can really appreciate the two weeks off over Christmas. We too really enjoyed having our dad home with us. Looks like you had a lot of fun and got some things accomplished around the house.
Tate is such a cute guy! I had to pull out my baby books to see how big Bryce was at that age. He was actually a pound heavier!!
So fun! Love the pictures! I also love what you did with the mantle & bookcase. (great idea, Kristen, great work, Katie!)
