JDRF WALK for KALI

So I'll update you on our fun and crazy summer and the begining of school later.  But right now I want to share something that we think is really important with you.

Four years ago our little girl Kali was diagnosed with type 1, or juvenile, diabetes.  It was scary to see our 2 year old practically in a coma and very sick.  (even the nurses told my sister the nurse that kali scared the poop out of them)  She has been fairly healthy since then but just last week she went into DKA or Diabetic Ketoacidosis.  This is a scary complication that can happen anytime she even gets the sniffles.

So after too many hours in the ER and Kali and I having a sleepover in pediatrics, we decided we needed to do something more.   We needed to take a greater part in the effort to finding a cure for this nasty disease.  Because who really likes to get poked every day.

So.... This year we are participating in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Walk to Cure Diabetes.  We have created a team called Kali's Krusaders.  We are going to be warriors fighting to find a cure.  The walk takes place this Saturday, September 25 at Scera Park.

If you are willing or able to help in this effort click on this link:  http://walk.jdrf.org/walker.cfm?id=87829548  to make a donation to JDRF.

How scary! Awesome of you to take up the cause.

On a side note...I missed you at the marathon fantasy football party. You were smart not to come...it was REALLY painful.

Oh my goodness. How do you know Danielle Spangler? That is so funny. She used to live out here in TN.

I never knew about Kali, and I wish I could send some money, but we are pretty much broke right now..LG is on the jobhunt, so I will just pray that someone else will donate extra to make up for me.

Love you guys.
