my babys growin' up!

sorry, but i'm about to brag a little. i just wanted you to know how awesome my joseph is. this is why: friday night i remembered that joe had soccer practice at 8 am the next morning ( it was too late to call someone else for a ride). jody had his first meet of the season(which both his boys and girls won!!), and it was going to be way too early to drag all of the little ones out of bed that early (i didn't want do deal with a bunch of cranky pants later). so i just figured i'd let him sleep in and skip this one practice.

anywho, at about 7:30, i heard joseph get up and turn on the tv. i kinda fell back asleep and next thing you know i'm jumping out of bed because there is a knock at the door. i look at my clock and think "what the heck, it's 8:04 am?!" just as i look out the window and see joseph's coach, joe bursts into my room in full soccer atire and practically yells (with a huge grin on his face) "bye mom, i'm going to soccer practice" and he runs out the door.
so i'm in a daze. joseph comes back after practice and i had to ask what went on this morning. His reply: "oh, i asked brother luque after the last practice if I could just get a ride on saturday. so i got up and had a snack. i wanted you to sleep in, so I didn't wake you up."

is he not the coolest kid ever!! who knew that 9 year olds could be so responsible.
then later when we were doing our saturday chores, he got right in and finished all of his and when I told kali and carter they needed to help wipe down the bathrooms, joseph dissappeared. a few minutes later he came up to me and reported that i didn't need to clean the toilets because he did them both. (that includes to inside, too!)

i don't think that I could have wiped the smile off my face that day even if i tried. let's just say that I love my joseph and think that he is the coolest kid ever! what am i going to do? my babys growin' up!!

That is so awesome! I can feel your pride here, he is a sweetie too. I know our grandkids enjoyed the summer time fun they had with him. Good job mom, and way to go for Joe!!
